Coach Mel is so good, Now I look forward to my workouts.

So, here’s what’s mind-blowing: Coach Mel is actually the AI counterpart to Tempo’s Head Coach Melissa. It’s pretty incredible. But at first, I wasn’t sure what to expect from an AI coach. My biggest concerns were whether AI Coach Mel could really get me to the mat and give me the personalized guidance I needed. Turns out, it’s so natural and easy—and fun! I’m actually kind of obsessed.

Each week, Coach Mel helps me schedule my workouts, which keeps me on track to hitting the goals I’ve set. It’s perfect for my packed, ever-changing schedule, too. If I need to switch up the intensity or type of session, Coach Mel does it for me. If I need to cancel or reschedule, I let her know (even up to one minute before the session starts) and it’s taken care of, with no cancellation fee.



The workouts themselves are SO GOOD and that post-lift high is SO REAL. My glutes are much stronger than when I started, and yeah, I’ll say it—I sometimes do a double-take (ok ok, triple) when I pass by a mirror. ;)

I don’t have to worry about “going to the gym” so It’s easy to show up

Because it’s literally just me, in my house, with my virtual Tempo personal trainer, Coach Mel. Before Tempo, I didn’t even want to touch a barbell in public. After Tempo, I feel comfortable and confident with weights in my hand, especially with the real-time form feedback I’ve been getting as I train. I can really go for new lifts and try different kinds of workouts, like boxing and barre classes, without feeling self-conscious about having to learn in front of other people. Tempo lets me focus on what I’m doing and be in the moment. That’s made my sessions more enjoyable and way more effective.

Tempo makes it easy to fit in a workout, so there’s no excuse to skip it.

I barely have time to shower, much less spend hours at the gym. And when I do find a moment, it’s exactly enough time to drive there only to have to turn right back around. Tempo lets me skip all that nonsense and get in an amazing workout at home—with zero compromise on quality and zero need for a sitter. Coach Mel is on call 24/7 and adjusts my workouts to how I’m feeling and how much time I have that day. So, I stay consistent and get to Warrior 2 to my heart’s content.

With Tempo, I don’t have to think about anything too hard.

When I say that I have not shut off my brain since 2019, I mean it. To have one less thing to coordinate and optimize and worry about—it’s a dream come true. And for it to be my fitness journey, I couldn’t be happier. Coach Mel already has my workouts all planned out for me. To keep me on schedule to hitting my unique goals, she automatically prioritizes, and reprioritizes, what and how I need to be training. Plus, the guidance features during sessions tells me how hard to push without risking overtraining and burning out.

No more failing to stick to my routine, only results.

In the past, I’d plateau in my fitness goals, which was incredibly frustrating. Having initial progress but then watching it level off left me discouraged and questioning what went wrong. Luckily, I don’t have to worry about that with Tempo. Since the app is synced to my Apple Watch, Coach Mel factors in my health metrics (sleep quality, heart rate variability, other activity, etc.) and adapts my training based on how well I’ve recovered from my last session. That means I know how intense to go to get the most optimal workout for me.

It’s been just over 3 months since I started training with Coach Mel, and here’s what I’ve noticed: My energy is way up. My anxiety is way down. I’m sleeping better. I don’t get winded taking the stairs. And I’m currently down 20 pounds. The results are real. And I couldn’t have done it without Coach Mel and Tempo. All for such a low price—my only regret is not starting sooner.
